Jason Hurst

A Science Fiction illustrator who reads the stuff. He is a nineteenth century landscape painter by inclination finding himself stranded in the latter days of the twentieth century. Somehow he is attempting to marry his unreconstructed romantic sensibility with hardware and techno-fetishism in the (probably vain, he says) hope that he might one day grow up to become a half decent sf illustrator. He is at present struggling to abandon hard won old-master techniques and a concern for naturalistic colouring. He now owns a wide selection of oranges, yellows and flaming reds.

Work includes covers for Interzone magazine and numerous small circulation publications, fully illustrated books on subjects from Magic to Skipping, as well as book covers for publishers from U.S.A to Europe.
